All I can say is what my experience was and what those of my friends and colleagues were like. OK, my experience(s) with Guerrilla is a decade old, perhaps they have new management or had a culture switch. If you want to know more, feel free to DM me :) As in, students that graduate aren't really ready enough to start working as a junior, mostly, also because there are so many of them that studios can affort to just pick out the best ones.īut, on the other (and up) side, most studios (except guerilla!!) are very fun to work at and usually have a very open and casual vibe and mindset. We have a few courses and colleges nowadays that do "game dev" courses, but to be very honest, most are subpar. If you're a senior dev then finding a job shouldn't be too hard, because we don't have enough of those so they're in demand. The game dev industry is quite lively here, but tbh most studios are pretty small and the amount of studios with 30 or more employees is only a handful. Hey, actual Dutch (senior) game dev here!
